Busy. Busy. Busy. But Enjoying It.
I sat down to do a small blog after finishing up Game 1 of the NBA Finals and I realized - Wow, I haven't written up anything since February. Not exactly consistent blogging if I do say so myself. Thankfully, I realized it now and not July; better late than never.
So what have I been up to? Well let's give you all the ever exciting Reader's Digest:
- I'm working on a new program with Gameloft that will allow Content Creators (Read: YouTubers and Streamers) to sign up and receive information, assets and more on all of our games and updates. The program will launch with six titles and expand after it's live. This is pretty awesome and I'm really excited. I honestly can't think of another gaming company that does something similar!
- I've been reading. I just recently finished re-reading The Lord of the Rings. This is only my second time reading the series, but it still was just as awesome as the first time I completed it. This second time around was even better because I picked up on some things that I missed when I was younger. I also was able to keep track of the lore better compared to when I first read it in middle school. I have now moved onto Book 1 of the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss and it is AWESOME! If you're looking for a new fantasy series, well, look no further.
- I've been traveling. First I went back to the East Coast for a quick weekend trip to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. It was awesome being home and seeing family, friends and tons of other people I miss while I'm living in the Bay Area. I also, unsurprisingly, fit in a few softball games with my old church team. I also went to Canada for the first time just this past weekend! More on that in the next segment.
- Canada + Gameloft's Montreal Studio + YouTubers. Yup, that's what happened this past weekend! I, along with one of my coworkers, brought 9 YouTubers up to our Montreal studio to preview a brand new game that'll be releasing later this summer. It was incredibly fun, exciting and just a plain awesome experience. Not only were all of these guys (and their +1's) really nice, they were pretty smart and incredibly interested in what we had to say. I enjoyed meeting them and look forward to working with all of them at Gameloft and anywhere else my career takes me!
- Plus a few other things that been taking up some time! (;
I'm excited to see what these next few weeks hold and I am optimistic that I'll be putting up some entries when time allows. Now who do you think is gonna win this series?
