Goodbye Gameloft. Hello Facebook.
TL;DR - I'm excited to share that I am going to be joining the Facebook Community Operations team! My last day at Gameloft will be October 28th.
Okay, so let's get into the actual blog post, it won't be long...After a little over two years at Gameloft as the Community Manager in the San Francisco office I am hanging up my controller and joining Facebook as a member of their Community Operations team. Specifically I'll be working on the Safety Team. (:
This announcement is both incredibly exciting to make, and also it pulls at the heartstrings. It goes without saying that I am forever grateful to Gameloft for taking a chance on me with little to no experience prior to becoming one of their Community Managers. I am however incredibly excited to see what my future holds at Facebook. I believe that this new opportunity will be a great time for me to grow both as a person and as a young professional. I couldn't think of a better place to go and continue helping communities. Pretty much anytime I think of the term "community," Facebook instantly pops into my head!
I will try to record a YouTube video to go over the upcoming change, say the thanks to all of the amazing community members I have worked with, and to give you all places to stay in touch with me if you'd like. I have been able to talk with countless players and content creators while at Gameloft and I cannot say thank you enough for everything you all have done for me.
I won't get in to any personal goodbyes on here, I'll leave that for emails and in-person exchanges before I go, but since I gave my notice today, I wanted to make sure the Gameloft community knew what was coming straight from the horse's mouth, if you will. (:
Thank you again. You all have helped me grow and be involved in video gaming in a way I never dreamed of. I am eternally grateful for being able to go through this journey with you all. Keep gaming. Stay in touch.
